Definition
The «molleja» is a bird’s gizzard, a muscular part of the stomach that grinds food. In Guatemala, the word is also used colloquially as a mild insult for someone who acts foolishly, naively, or carelessly.
Like «pijije», calling someone «molleja» has a gentler tone than harsher insults, and is often used among friends or family to gently correct or tease someone.
Usage
Used in informal contexts to point out that someone made a careless mistake or lacked judgment. Commonly heard across different regions of the country, especially in the highlands and western Guatemala.
